Mick and Paddy are trying to estimate the height of a flag pole. They stand there looking up at the flag pole without an ounce of an idea of how to go about it.
A contractor walks by and they explain their problem, hoping for a solution.
“That’s easy, fellas…watch this…” says the contractor.

He unbolts the base of the flag pole, lies it flat on the ground, takes out his measuring tape and gives them the measurement, and then walks away.
Paddy says to Mick, “Bloody idiot…we asked for the height and he gave us the feckin’ length!”
